Indian Creek School thrives on providing students with a wide variety of talents and interest the opportunity to pursue excellence in broad and diverse ways. “Creekers” from Pre-K3 through grade 12 achieve great heights in many way which reflect the dynamic community that makes up our School.
Academically, Indian Creek students thrive in many ways, such as presenting capstone STEM projects, defending a senior thesis, excelling on college placement exams, being named National Latin Exam Scholars, or other impressive feats of the mind.
Artistically, ICS students have recently mastered the stage in the School’s outstanding spring production of “Heathers the Musical (High School Version)," been named the Maryland State Champion of the Poetry Out Loud Competition, earned Cappies of Balitmore Nominations for the Fall Play, among others.
Athletically, the Eagles of Indian Creek have achieved success through not just winning on the field, but through coming together as teammates, mentoring younger students, and reaching personal goals.
Indian Creek students excel at being valuable members of the outside community as well, studying ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay, serving as a US Youth Ambassador to Brazil, honoring Earth Day, being named Maryland Youth of the Year, observing a Day of Silence, and earning honors for diplomacy at the Model United Nations seminar.
Indian Creek supports students of all ages to achieve great things by intentionally fostering the non-cognitive skills of passion, resilience, optimism, and creativity (among others). The School’s neuro-science based teaching practices help students to manage stress in effective ways, resulting in the ability to strive for achievement in a variety of areas.

A November 2017 study published in the Journal of School Effectiveness and School Improvement found after analyzing data from 200,000 15-year-old students in 33 countries, that students from low-poverty areas taught by teachers with a four-year degree had higher reading scores. No surprise there.
First Lady Michelle Obama championed improved nutrition standards for school meal programs during her time in the White House. Nutrition advocates said the rules were necessary to ensure healthier options for children, which would hopefully curb growing rates of childhood obesity.
