Enter to win tickets to 'Unraveled,' a family-friendly musical performance

Akropolis will present two educational games, including a musical and theatrical rendition of the children's book "The Best Story" and a participatory melody game with the music of George Gershwin. The audience will also get to "meet" the instruments of the reed family. The show ends with a short question and answer session with the artists.

The tickets are for the 2 p.m. performance.

From 3-4 p.m. there is a Musical Expedition where children and parents receive a musical passport for hands-on exploration of instruments in the string, woodwind, brass and percussion families.

The Akropolis Reed Quintet has been recognized for educational outreach and outstanding, imaginative programming for youth and children.

This is the last group to perform as part of the 2016-17 CandleKids Series, which provides family performances to spark children's interest in the performing arts.

Tickets are usually $12.

The Horowitz Center's Smith Theatre is located on the campus of Howard Community College at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway.
