Holiday Fun Day 14—Baltimore's Washington Monument Lighting and Fireworks

Head into Baltimore for the annual Monument Lighting with entertainment, food, holiday activities and a fireworks display tonight, Dec. 6.

A Holiday Village featuring food vendors, a beer garden and a special Kids Corner will take place in the parks surrounding the Washington Monument, the nation's first honoring George Washington. Over 30 vendors with delicious treats will be on hand.

The West Park will be transformed into a holiday village with food and community vendors; the North Park will be merry with food trucks and bars, and the South Park will feature family-friendly food vendors, children's crafts, face painting, photos with Santa, and more.

There will be live performances from Kristen Toedtman & The Community Chorus of Peabody, OrchKids, City College Choir, and Morgan State Choir, and stick around for a grand firework finale at 8 p.m.

The Holiday Village will open at 5 p.m. and stage entertainment will start at 6 p.m. The lighting will occur at approximately 7:45 p.m. and the event ends at 8 p.m. The Monument is located in Mount Vernon Place in the 600 block of Cathedral St.

Because of road closures and the fireworks safety zone, the public is encouraged to enter Mt. Vernon’s West Park from Cathedral Street, not from the Charles Street area closest to the Monument itself. After 7pm, the only way to enter the event is on Cathedral Street. Be sure to check out the event map before heading out. For more details visit the Monument Lighting website.
